Infobright 3.1 Now Available

This release is available for both Infobright Community Edition (ICE) and Infobright Enterprise Edition (IEE). Release 3.1 features an enhanced SQL framework that adds Knowledge Grid support for approximately 100 additional SQL functions, including CASE expressions. The impact of this is to significantly improve performance for these functions as they will now be optimized by the Knowledge Grid rather than the MySQL optimizer.

Infobright's Knowledge Grid automatically creates and stores information about the data in the system, eliminating the need to create indexes, partition data, and perform other complex administrative efforts required by other products. The addition of the new SQL framework is a significant enhancement to Infobright's software, and was the most requested feature enhancement from both Infobright customers and the Infobright Community. Further enhancements to the new SQL framework will be forthcoming during 2009 to extend the new functionality to a broader set of expressions. Details about this release are available on the www.infobright.org ICE download page.

ICE 3.1 Now Available for Microsoft Windows

In response to strong demand from the Infobright Community, we are pleased to announce the availability of ICE 3.1 for Microsoft Windows. While a virtual machine version for 32-bit Windows was released last year, this is the first version of ICE available natively on Windows.
