Former Sun Microsystems’ MySQL Executive Brings Nearly 30 Years of Successful Technology Industry Sales Experience to Open Source Data Warehousing Company

Toronto, Ontario – February 9, 2008 – Infobright, the open source data warehousing company, today announced the appointment of industry veteran Mark Burton to its board of directors. Burton was most recently at Sun Microsystems, where he held the position of executive vice president of worldwide sales and alliances for Sun’s MySQL business.

“Infobright’s unique technology coupled with its open source distribution model is an ideal solution for data warehousing in the current economic climate,” said Burton. “I look forward to helping the Infobright team to capitalize on this high-growth market.”

Burton has nearly 30 years of enterprise sales experience and a track record for successfully developing global sales teams. At MySQL, he helped build a worldwide sales engine monetizing the MySQL open source brand and culminating in a $1 billion acquisition by Sun Microsystems in February 2008. Prior to that, as Informatica Corporation's senior vice president of Americas’ sales and eventually group vice president of worldwide sales and alliances, he grew the company's annual revenues from $8 million to $154 million, a significant contribution to Informatica's successful IPO and secondary offering. Burton also held senior executive and field sales management positions at OuterBay Technologies, Oracle Corporation, DEC and Unisys.

Burton was recently named the executive chairman at Zend Technologies, plus serves on MuleSource’s board of directors and on the Jaspersoft advisory board.

“Mark’s deep understanding of how to effectively build sales teams for both established and start-up businesses is a huge benefit for Infobright,” said Miriam Tuerk, president and CEO of Infobright. “He will serve as an important resource as we move forward to aggressively promote our solution and expand our customer base and market share.”

Infobright’s board of directors is currently led by Andre Boisvert, a former president of SAS Institute Inc., who currently serves on the board of several companies and founded Pentaho, an open source BI company. The board also includes Chip Hazard, a general partner at Flybridge Capital Partners; Robert Antoniades, a managing director of RBC Venture Partners; and Miriam G. Tuerk, president and CEO of Infobright.
