Primatics Financial is a rapidly growing business consulting and technology solutions firm that offers services and software products to financial institutions and government agencies serving the financial services sector. They are based in McLean, Virginia and employ over 150 professionals in support of our two primary lines of business, Primatics Consulting and Primatics Systems. Primatics Systems offers software product solutions, primarily addressing client needs in the areas of loan and security portfolio management.
Challenge
Primatics needed an analytic database that could improve query performance against financial account and transactional data that is updated via a monthly batch cycle. They also wanted to decrease the application operating costs by shrinking disk footprint by use of a database with a high degree of data compression. The solution needed to work well with the BI suite from Microstrategy.
We needed a database that could meet our strict BI performance requirements while being flexible enough to be able to drill down to the most granular level. We used the cloud to parallelize our computation engine and that necessitated a database that can keep up with the volumes of data we were creating.

Solution
