CEO Blog: Big Data Yields Another Big Quarter for Infobright
There are many reasons people and organizations want to analyze machine-generated data. One of them is to look for patterns. Here's a pattern I noticed: as Big Data continues to explode, and one of the main drivers in Big Data is machine-generated data, then that explosion fuels ongoing success at Infobright. There are so many interesting and productive initiatives underway. We have been pleased that a number of great success stories are now being shared like ones on YouTube such as the JDSU success story, the Bango success story, and the LiveRail success story. Needless to say, there are some very large projects in production where there is serious money being saved and serious money being made by using Infobright. We love that. Success begets success, and there is no greater form of flattery in our business than seeing new customers emulating the success of our current customers, or seeing our current customers expanding and growing their projects with us.
We got off to a good start this year, thanks to the reasons cited above. We are increasing the rate in which we are adding new customers, and seeing growth and expansion in our existing base. All good.
In the tech bubble, everyone was a genius and the next billionaire. The rising tide of the tech bubble lifted everyone, even the nonsensical initiatives. And while the rising tide of Big Data and machine-generated data is a bit of an explosion as well, I think a key difference is that now it is important to actually be good and deliver real value. The speculative bets of the late 90's were made too often with hope instead of good information. We are rising with the tide of machine-generated data because we are good, and we deliver real value. Our customers do more and spend less. As long as what we deliver is in demand, and there is clearly no end in sight there, then we expect to benefit from being in the right place at the right time with the right offering and a great team to back it up.
Regards,
Don

I do believe that people are starting to realize that there’s not going to be one silver bullet. It’s not going to be one specific technology that solves everybody’s problems, but it’s more likely to be a coexistence of technologies put together in the right way.
